Day 1

 

Departure in the morning at 09.05 from Helsinki to Turku, arrival at 11.00 in Turku. The train takes you from city centre to city centre.

 

Transfer to The Original Sokos Hotel Hamburger Börs. The hotel is located by the market place, which is very vital during the morning hours, well worth of visit.

 

At 13.00 a guided bus tour of Turku provides an overall picture of the city’s history and sights. The 2-hour tour includes also a visit to Turku Cathedral and Turku Castle. Turku Castle has stood guard over the mouth of river Aura since 1280s bearing witness to many major turning points of Finnish history.

 

Dinner with local specialties is served at Restaurant Ship Cindy at the Aura river, were all the evening life takes place. During the summer months everybody wants to be by the water and in Turku that is the Aura river.

Day 2

 

Departure by train at 09.05 to Tampere, arrival in Tampere at 10.47. Transfer to Original Sokos Hotel Ilves.

 

Tampere is the third biggest city in Finland with more than 220 000 inhabitants. The City of Tampere was established by the King of Sweden Gustav III in 1779, on the bank of the Tammerkoski rapids.

 

Tampere has been an industrial pioneer in Finland since the very beginning. Finland’s first paper mill started operation in 1783, and the first paper machine was engaged at the J.C. Frenckell & Son’s factory in 1842.

 

A guided bus tour in Tampere. The tour will take you through the old city center and will offer breathtaking views on both large lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi with a ride along the ridge of Pyynikki, the highest moraine ridge in the world, formed in the ice age.

 

In the late afternoon a visit to Särkänniemi, which is not only an amusement park, but also holds the Sara Hilden museum and Planetarium.

 

Dinner at Näsinneula restaurant. This literally is as high as you can get and dine in Finland, whilst dining you can enjoy spectacular views in this one of a kind rotating restaurant.

Day 3

 

After the breakfast train at 09.00 to Helsinki, arrival in Helsinki at 10.30.

The Train Station in Tampere is located 500 meters from the hotel.
